CMR 2011 equivalent of document.getElementById

I'm doing an upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2011.  I'm going through the javascript and need to change all the instances of document.getElementById to the CRM 2011 equivalent. I don't thinkvar nameControl =
Xrm.Page.getControl("name"); is correct though?
