Is this a scenario for an action process?

Hello,

I have not really had a business need yet for developing a custom action but I think I might now have one. In the scenario under consideration leads do *NOT* need to be qualified. If they are being entered then they are qualified. I guess what that really means is that they have already been qualified outside of CRM.

So as the system is currently operating the user enters a lead then hits save. Then immediately hits qualify to get it to the opportunity stage.

My thought was to create a save & qualify button that would run the custom action SaveQualify (I would of course create that message).

My other thought was why not just start the new entry at the opportunity stage...is there something I am missing that would be lost by not using a lead? This might just be an academic point as developing the button will be far easier then changing an established process.
