We just upgraded from CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 and I just thought of a strange thing about products on an opportunity in CRM 2013. The problem for me right now is:
When we are selecting products to add to the opportunity - we want to be able to search product numbers and so we added that column to the lookup view of products.
This works fine in 2011 because there you first add the opportunity product - the "Opportunity product" form pops up - from there we use a lookup onProduct to select the product we want, and there we see product numbers in the view when selecting whatever product we want.
The CRM 2013 way of doing things is: On the opportunity record, in the section calledProducts (but it's actually Opportunity products?), we click the + sign and chooseExisting Product and choose to Look up more records we find ourselves at a lookup of Price List Items, not products!
So, in CRM 2011 you choose products and in CRM 2013 you choose Price List Items, as it seems.
And since we need to be able to see the product number when we add an opportunity product, I'm now forced to add that field on Price List Item and map it from the products or is there any other way to go?
Surely I can't be the first to notice this? (but yes, I did search before posting this thread)
