I want to upgrade CRM 2011 to CRM 2016 and I have java scripts customization in CRM 2011. Based on google search and other documents I prepare plan for upgrade. Please go through it and update any steps need to be added or any changes.
Prepare test server with CRM 2011
Prepare test server 2012 R2
Take backup of organization DB from live SQL server
Install CRM 2011 on test server
Restore organization DB and import organization DB
Update UR14
Upgrade CRM 2011 to CRM 2013
Take backup of organization DB
Delete CRM 2011 config and organization DB from sql server or install sql on another VM
Uninstall CRM 2011 and install CRM 2013 or install CRM 2013 on another VM
Restore organization DB and import organization DB
Update latest 2013 Rollups
Upgrade CRM 2013 to CRM 2015
Take backup of organization DB
Delete CRM 2013 config and organization DB from sql server or install sql on another VM
Uninstall CRM 2013 and install CRM 2015 or install CRM 2015 on another VM
Restore organization DB and import organization DB
Update latest 2015 Rollups
Fix issues
Run crm 2015 custom code validation tool
Run Legacy Feature Check tool
Fix the issues.
In place upgrade CRM 2015 to CRM 2016
Please find my queries below
Do I have to run custom code validation tool and Legacy Feature Check tool the fix issues in each time, in CRM 2011 before importing data into CRM 2013 as well as in CRM 2013 before importing data into CRM 2015
If run custom code validation tool and Legacy Feature Check tool the fix issues in CRM 2011, can I run In place upgrade from CRM 2011 to CRM 2013 to CRM 2015 to CRM 2016
Please verify steps and update
